Information on Multilingual Free Consultations

We offers multilingual support for foreign residents living in the area to provide general consultation on everyday life issue, information services, and referrals to the organizations that provide support services for foreign residents so that they can live their lives comfortably. Consultation is free.
* This operation is managed by NIMIC under the consignment of Nishitokyo city government.
* These consultations are for people who live, work, or attend school in Nishitokyo City.

The center’s services may come in handy when:

• you have concerns or questions about everyday issues;
• you do not know where to go for advice;
• you want to learn more about hospitals and schools;
• you are looking for Japanese-language classes;
• you need help completing various administrative procedures;
• you are looking for information for foreign residents;
• you want a multilingual newsletter;
• you are interested in international exchange;
• you want to volunteer for international exchange or multicultural activities;
• you want to volunteer as an interpreter or translator;
• you know a foreign resident who is having some problems.

Multilingual Free Consultation Methods, Languages, and Consultation Times

You can consult with us in any of the following three ways:

1. Face-to-face consultation at Nishitokyo Multicultural Center (No booking required.) *You can also consult by phone.
Possible languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese
Depending on the language, the days and times when interpreters are present at the Nishitokyo Multicultural Center differ.
Possible times (excluding national holidays and the year-end and New Year holidays [December 27-January 4]
English: 10:00–12:00, 13:00–16:00 on weekdays
Japanese: 10:00–12:00, 13:00–16:00 on weekday
Chinese: 13:00–15:00 on Wednesdays and Fridays
Korean: 10:00–12:00, 13:00–16:00 on Thursdays (In April, consultations are also possible on Wednesiday, April 3rd from 13:00 to 15:00.)
Spanish: 10:00–12:00, 13:00–16:00 on Tuesdays
Note: The days of the week when Spanish interpretation is available are subject to change without notice, so please inquire beforehand.

 2. Consultation using a TV phone at the Nishitokyo Multicultural Center (No booking required.)
Possible languages: Burmese, Chinese, English, Filipino, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Khmer, Korean, Nepali, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai, Vietnamese, Ukrainian and easy Japanese.
*We will connect with an interpreter via a TV phone at the Nishitokyo Multicultural Center. The counselor will be at the Nishitokyo Multicultural Center.
Possible times: 10:00–12:00, 13:00–16:00 on weekdays
*Excluding national holidays and the year-end and New Year holidays [December 27-January 4]

3. Online consultation via Zoom
*Booking required.
*Since these consultations are operated under consignment from the Nishitokyo City Government, they are only for people who live, work, or attend school in Nishitokyo City.
Possible languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese
*Possible times vary depending on the language.

・ Japanese: 13:00–16:00 on Mondays and 10:10–12:00, 13:00–16:00 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
・ English: 13:00–16:00 on Mondays and 10:10–12:00, 13:00–16:00 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
・ Chinese: 13:00–15:00 on Wednesdays and Fridays
・ Korean: 10:10–12:00, 13:00–16:00 on Thursdays (In April, consultations are also possible on Wednesiday, April 3rd from 13:00 to 15:00.)
・ Spanish: 10:10–12:00, 13:00–16:00 on Tuesdays

*Bookings can be made up to 24 hours in advance.
To proceed with a booking, select the language to be used in the consultation from the following and click on it. The booking screen will then appear, and the booking calendar will be displayed.
