Spring! Time for Cherry Blossom Viewing!

There are many parks in Nishitokyo where you can see beautiful cherry blossoms. Here are six recommended spots for you to go to with family or friends:
(1) Nishitokyo Ikoinomori Park: This park has more than 100 cherry trees of 20 species.
(2) Mukodai Sports Field / Tanashi Shimin Koen Fields: Stroll around the ground for a leisurely view of the blossoms.
(3) Koganei Park: Famous for its cherry blossoms, this large park has about 1,400 cherry trees of around 50 species.
(4) Bunridai Park: You can view weeping cherry trees and Someiyoshino cherry trees together.
(5) Higashi Fushimi Park: This park is popular among kids for its long slide and wood deck.
(6) Sakura Park: This park has a pond and stream, so it is ideal for a stroll.

Procedures for Users of Nonlicensed Nurseries, Etc. to Receive Free Child Daycare
—Benefits covering daycare and user fees—

Eligibility: People with children attending nonlicensed nursery schools, etc. (who receive authorization for the payment of benefits before use)
Procedures are necessary to claim expenses for the use of a child-raising facility, etc., such as paid daycare and user fees. These procedures differ by facility.

Payment of Parental Subsidies

Eligibility: People living in Nishitokyo who meet all the following conditions:
(1) People living with a child with a monthly contract with a nonlicensed child daycare facility (company-run childcare service. *People receiving temporary childcare are not eligible. *People who are not using licensed nursery schools, community-run childcare services, or certified childcare centers.
(2) People who are paying childcare fees properly.
Subsidy amount: The lesser sum of either the childcare service fee or the maximum subsidy payment
Applications: Complete the necessary entries on the application form available at each facility and submit it to the facility by the designated deadline.
*Users of so-called baby hotels are not eligible.

Enjoy Storytelling in Various Languages

There will be a reading of picture books in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Nepalese, as well as games.

Puppet Show for Kids and Their Parents

Children and their parents will be able to watch a puppet show and also enjoy traditional children’s songs.

Eligibility: Children aged 18 months to 5 years old and their parents
Capacity: 20 pairs (in order of application)

Free COVID-19 Vaccinations to End

The free COVID-19 vaccination program will end on March 31 (Sun). The final day on which free vaccinations are available will differ by hospital or clinic, so you are advised to get a vaccination as quickly as possible if you want one. (During the booster period from September 20, 2023, to March 31, 2024, individuals can only receive one vaccination each.) For details, see the city website or contact the call center.
◆The Tokyo metropolitan government will set up a temporary vaccination site in Nishitokyo for one day.
